Our Story

We founded Passage Guiding as an opportunity to share our passion for natural and wild places, and meet good people along the way.

  • Director & Guide

Raised in Cornwall, paddling has long been a part of Jonny’s life.

Exploration is something he is truly passionate about, and having the opportunity to share this with people is the reason Passage Guiding was established.

Jonny holds a range of qualifications, notably Sea Kayak Leader and Mountain Leader.

During his time as an Expedition Guide and Instructor he’s worked in Scotland, Plas Y Brenin - The National Outdoors Centre and guided countless trips in the beautiful western fjords of Norway.

He has completed a range of personal expeditions by bike, foot and kayak. Some more notable trips include a solo, unsupported navigation of the entire Cornish coast by sea kayak, and a complete circumnavigation of Iceland by bike.

  • Director & Guide

Emma found her love of kayaking through her University Canoe Club.

She has led a wealth of sea kayaking and hiking expeditions through the Western Fjords of Norway and has instructed up and down the UK.

Alongside paddling, Emma is passionate about sustainability and nature, and has spent a number of years as a Sustainability Consultant. Today she still explores this working with Protect Our Winters (POW) UK to develop their Carbon Literacy Training, and volunteers with a number of outdoor organisations.

Emma is passionate about guiding to help others experience the magic of expeditions and the outdoors to support them to feel better, think better, and do better, and to reconnect with nature to help protect our planet.
